About Calm Being

Crafted for intentional living.

Calm Being is a small, family-run business based in Cape Town, South Africa. We create thoughtfully designed, handcrafted furniture and children’s pieces that combine beauty, functionality and quality.

We believe the environment we live in plays a significant role in our well-being. That’s why we focus on creating products that serve a purpose while helping foster a sense of calm and creativity in your home.

What began in 2014 with small wooden tag bracelets engraved with encouraging messages has blossomed into something much larger. In 2018, Calm Being became a registered business and launched its first website. As our family grew, so did our vision. When searching for nursery and children’s furniture for our own family, we struggled to find affordable options that combined quality, functionality and modern design. This inspired us to start creating our own.

From those first pieces, we expanded our vision to offer beautifully crafted, long-lasting wooden furniture and children’s toys, designed to bring warmth, practicality and timeless style into everyday life.

We take pride in the quality of our work — every item we create is made by hand with attention to detail and built to last. Whether it’s a piece of furniture for your living room or a fun, thoughtfully designed toy for your child, our creations are designed to help cultivate spaces where both adults and children can thrive.

At Calm Being, we believe that beautiful, functional design should be accessible. Our aim is to offer thoughtfully made pieces that help you create spaces that are beautiful, comfortable and personal, while making everyday living a little more intentional.

Thank you for supporting our small business and the work we create here in Cape Town.
